Hi! I'm Nicole. I enjoy writing human-centered stories and designing graphics. I'm a rising junior at Northwestern studying journalism and international studies. I'm currently writing for the SCMP's Asia Desk in Singapore. This past semester I studied in Strasbourg, France, where I interned at the Council of Europe's Directorate of Communications.
I've contributed to five desks at The Straits Times, Singapore -- including Foreign, Video, and Art. I was also a 2023 School of The New York Times Gap Year Program student.
In 2023 I received the Singapore Press Holdings (SPH) Overseas Journalism Scholarship, a full-ride undergraduate award. Outside of reporting, I am a research assistant on two projects at the S.I. Newhouse School Of Public Communications; namely "The West as Cultural Studies’ Constitutive Center," and "The Role of Communication in Collaborative Women’s Health Projects."
